How to fill your windproof lighter

Your windproof lighter is engineered for lighter fluid and flints. Fluid can evaporate even when unused, so refuel before each outing and always close the lid after use.

Safety first: Refill away from flames or sparks, and only use approved lighter fluid.
  1. Step 1 – Remove the inside unit.

Hold the lighter case firmly and lift out the inner unit.

  2. Step 2 – Expose the fuel chamber.

Turn the insert over and lift the felt pad to reveal the packing material.

    • Hint: An unfolded paper clip makes lifting the pad easy.
  3. Step 3 – Add lighter fluid slowly.

Saturate the packing material until the fluid just reaches the top or begins to change colour.

    • Tip: Do not overfill—extra fuel can leak and irritate skin. If it does touch skin, wash promptly with soap and water.
  4. Step 4 – Reassemble & wipe down.

Insert the inside unit back into the case. Wipe any excess fluid from the lighter and your hands before lighting.

    • Ensure the fuel can is closed and spilled fluid is cleaned up—it’s highly flammable.
  5. Step 5 – Ignite.

Using your thumb, strike the flint wheel downward. Repeat until a flame appears.

  6. Step 6 – Close to extinguish.

When finished, close the lid to put out the flame—this lighter does not self-extinguish.

    • Warning: The lighter body may be hot after use; handle with care.
Keep it topped up

Lighter fluid evaporates naturally. Refuel before long outings to ensure spark on demand.

Carry “bottom down”

If placing the lighter in your pocket, store it bottom-first to minimise evaporation.

Use genuine flints & fluid

Stick to lighter-grade fuel and replacement flints for best performance and longevity.
