A marine grade stainless steel memorial plaque gives you a lasting way to honour someone’s memory outdoors. Made from 316 marine grade stainless steel, it holds up to rain, sun, and general Aussie weather far better than cheaper alloys. Available in two sizes to suit a bench, tree, garden marker, or dedication wall. We laser engrave your wording straight into the metal, so the text stays permanent and won’t fade or peel. You can add names, dates, a short tribute, or a meaningful quote. Just type the wording into the personalisation boxes, exactly as you want it to appear. If none of our options suit, we offer the new design option.
About the material
316 stainless steel is the same grade used on boat fittings and coastal handrails. It resists rust and corrosion much better than standard 304 stainless, which is why we use it for memorial plaques that live outside. The surface has a brushed finish that reads clearly in the sun without harsh glare.
Coastal and salt water use
If you’re fixing the plaque anywhere near salt water, we strongly recommend sealing the edges and back with a clear marine grade sealant before it goes up. Salt air is hard on every metal, 316 included, and a fresh reseal every year or two will keep the plaque looking its best. Inland installs don’t need any extra sealing.
Perfect for
Memorial benches, memorial trees, and garden tributes are the most common uses. It also works as a dedication plaque on a family home, a marker for a pet memorial spot, or a tribute piece on a shed or workshop wall. Clubs and community groups often order them in batches as honour board plaques, which fits in with our corporate gifts and retirement gifts ranges. Families also use them alongside our keepsake boxes or as part of a wider tribute for grandparents and anniversary dedications.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do I fix the memorial plaque to a bench or tree?
The 100 by 50mm version with pre-drilled holes takes standard screws or bolts, which works on timber benches, posts, and most tree mounts. The plain versions can be attached with an exterior grade adhesive like Sikaflex or a marine grade epoxy. If the plaque is going up near the coast, reseal the edges once it’s in place.
Will the engraving fade over time?
No. Laser engraving cuts into the metal itself, so the text is permanent. The stainless steel surface may develop a light patina after a few years outside, which most families are happy with on a memorial piece.
Can I order memorial plaques in bulk for a club or association?
Yes. Sports clubs, churches, and community groups regularly order engraved memorial plaques in batches for honour boards or dedication walls. Add the quantity you need and include each person’s wording in the personalisation box when ordering.
What’s the difference between the two 100 by 50mm options?
The only difference is the mounting holes. Pick the version with holes if you’re screwing or bolting the plaque onto a surface. The plain version gives a cleaner look if you’re using adhesive with no visible fixings.
